It is with a very heavy heart that I let all of Carter's Crusaders know that Carter passed away at 4:41am this morning. He was wrapped in the arms of his Daddy as I lay next to them. He is now at peace. He will be taken to NIH in Bethesda to have this EVIL tumor removed for research. I want to thank each and everyone of you for your continued love, support, prayers. Please continue to pray for us as we enter another phase of this journey.
With Love,
Courtney

We are so sad to hear of Carter's departure from his earthly home, and yet we are so thankful to know that he is now free and healthy and rejoicing in his eternal home with his loving grandfathers who arrived before him. May God fill your hearts with peace, comfort, and love as you contemplate the joy he is experiencing as he plays on the streets of gold. We don't know you personally, but we love you and will continue to pray for you all.

It is with emmense sadness that I leave this message today. Courtney is one of the few friends that I feel I created a lifelong bond of childhood/adolescent memories. Just to read about Carter, Courtney, the family's ordeal has been a overwhelmingly sad experience. I know, in my heart, that he is in a better place. I don't know, however, how those left behind have the strength to continue on. My love, sympathy, and prayers go out to the Harris family. I admire your strength and only hope these words, and those of others, give you more.
All my love,
Cristie Fields
May God wrap you and fill you with Carter's peace. We are friend's of the Quetermous' and pray with them for you all.

my heart is heavy for you and your family. i have followed your story the entire time with a great deal of hope and prayers that carter would be healed (in the physical relm)...im so sorry for your lost and wanted to share some words with you that i read recently. it was a story about a man whose wife was batteling a terminal for of cancer and was having a hard time accepting what was to come. he said while sitting on the couch one night the Lord spoke to him as clear as day and told him not to be trouble because no matter what happened (life or death) she still would win!! if she was physically healed and able to live longer with her husband...she won! if she had to succumb to her illness and had to go home to be wrapped in our heavenly fathers arms... she still won! he died in his earthly fathers arm but bless God he lives now wrapped in our heavenly father's arm!!! carter is a winner today!!! i have a prayer that i like to pray that i would like to share with you it goes like this: " Lord i ask that you give me the courage of a lion, the strength of a giant, peace like a river and heal me (heart, mind and spirit) as if i just touched the hem of your garment! i hope that the Lord will grant all those things to you, your family, loved ones and friends... with love, the Jefferson Family (21 glen oak)

I do feel a sense of peace over me to know that his little hand is being held by beautiful angels and he is fully healed now. I will continue to pray for you and I know that God will give you comfort in so many ways. Much love to you and your family, Crystal Beasley Asimacopoulos
It saddens me so much to hear of Carter's passing but the knowledge that he is now at peace and without pain, makes the rest of this journey for the family and friends a little easier to handle.
What a fighter he was. God has gained a wonderful little boy.

Courtney, Skip, Tommy and Caroline,
My heart just broke when I looked at the blog today, and read of Carter-Man's passing. I can't even begin to imagine the heart ache that your family is going through, I pray that God continues to wrap his loving arms around your family and give you the strengh to continue through this phase of your journey. Take peace in knowing that Carter is no longer suffering and is healed of the evil tumor that overtook him, and he is playing in heaven with all of the kids before him that surcame to this evil disease. I wish that there was a way to take the pain and sadness away for you,but only time can do that. Carter was truely an inspiration to me,although I never met him personally I felt like I knew him from following his story on the blog that you so graciously kept updated with his progress. You are an amazing family to have stayed so strong throughout this journey. Your family will remain in my prayers along with all of the other children fighting the horrible disease.
with love,
Missy Jones

Dear Harris Family,
I am so sorry to hear of Carter's passing. Having lost our son, Luke, to DIPG in September, we feel your pain so deeply.
Thank you for donating Carter's tumor for research. We made the same choice, and are praying that this leads to a day where no family ever has to hear that there is no hope for their child surviving again.
God bless your family and may He grant you a sense of peace during this most difficult time.

I think it is wonderful that you are donating Carter's tumor. I have known for a long time in my heart that it is what I need to do when the time comes for Ethan as well. I just wanted to let you know how sorry I am for your loss. Carter was a tough kid who fought hard. Carter also had incredible parents who did everything possible for him. He taught us a lot. He will make the care for the children who follow him better. This world is a better place because of Carter.
I wish you and your family the best.

Hi. I have followed Carter's blog since October after reading about him on Noah's Road. I am so sorry for your loss. What a precious little boy. I can only imagine your pain. I would read your posts about his dad just lying with him and holding him, and your anguish about nourishing him and managing his pain, and I would cry. I've been praying for you, and will continue to do so. I am a Christian also and your faith has been encouraging to me.
Praying for you as another believer in Jesus and as a mom,
Kristin
Courney and Skip and the entire Harris Family,

Love to all, Dawn & Mike Long
Dear Harris Family,
As I sit here again for the past week thinking of the amazing Carter Man and your family I was on the fredfield house site looking to see about the soccer games this weekend (ha ha)I saw the link again to Carters Crusaders and thought I need to read it again.
What popped up the most amazing blog by Kyle B. I love the snow (there sure is alot of it) Haeven't seen this much since 1976, and I will never look at the same way again. Carter Man touched my family and my Daughter Emily P (who was in his Kindergarten Class) more than you know. God Speed Carter one day I would love to meet you in Heaven and see what a great boy your are.....
Love the Petke Family
Harris Crew,
I am so so blessed to have been in your lives over the past several months, both as Carter's OT, and as a fellow parent. Your strength during Carter's hard fight gave me strength in my daily struggles with Maria's continued health concerns...I know many other families were touched by your strength. I am sorry I was unable to attend the services, as Maria continues to struggle with pneumonia and our custody battle has dragged on...but I was with you in spirit, and continue to be every day.
Please give an extra hug to each other for me...you are an amazing family, and your strength continues to inspire me every day. I hope that in the coming months, we can get together. I will remember Carter always.
Love,
Lora
Dear Jesus,
Now that you have Carter, Jesus hold him tight. Give him hugs and kisses since Mommy can't at night. Let him watch TV on the big screen in the sky. His Daddys heart is broken, Daddys love never dies.
He's always there in memory as each painful day goes slow. He's in his sisters smile as you watch her grow.
His big brother lost a buddy that he loved so much, give him strength to know your there throughout the day and night.
So Jesus up in heaven, Do you know the Song? the one about the child asking about god?
When Carter got to heaven, did he taste the milky way? He did see his grampa, bet their gonna play!
Angels get special things, What color are his wings?
God got another angel to help pour out the rain.
To Mom and Daddy, May you someday mend.
Knowing in your heart you will see him again. When you get to heaven and see him face to face, God will get another angel to help pour out the rain.
Your in our prayers.
Song Buddy Jewell - Help Pour out the rain.
